St. Joe Valley PHCC wins Award
Brenda Dant, CAE, Indiana PHCC Executive Director, recently announced at the holiday party that our association won a STAR Award for the best community/philanthropic project of 2007 for the renovation of the Twyckenham Pool. The STAR award is given by the Indiana Society of Association Executives and this is the leading statewide awards event in association and non-profit organizations. Our association was awarded the honor for organizations with budgets under $500,000 a year. Thanks to Brenda for nominating our association.
State Convention Needs Your Commitment
For the first time, the Indiana PHCC Expo will take place at the Belterra Resort in Southern Indiana. Dant said that the response to the change has been overwhelming and it is critical that those who want to attend and reserve a room at the resort need to let the state office know immediately. The St. Joe Valley PHCC has reserved approximately 16 rooms, but that probably doesn’t include everyone who plans to attend. Please call the office if you are interested in going. The event will take place August 6, 7, and 8 at the resort. Golf will be included this year.
Call A Licensed Plumber Campaign
The St. Joe Valley PHCC is beginning phase II of the marketing plan regarding licensing. We had two billboard located at Michigan and Sample Streets and Indiana and Michigan streets. We aired our previous WSBT commercial on Fox 28. Banners are being displayed displayed at wholesalers and bumper stickers are available. A DVD outlining our experience was recently developed and is available for members.
National Plumbing Industry Week
The national association is celebrating 125 years and also will be sponsoring National Plumbing Industry Week April 28-May 2 during the PHCC annual legislative conference in Washington, D.C. The PHCC is looking for help as it tries to get as many state associations across the country to receive proclamations from their respective state governments. The national association is also working to get a Presidential proclamation and Congressional proclamation.
National President Jim Finley is making this a priority of his presidency. “The greatest challenge and my primary objective is to bring recognition to the industry for the contribution it makes in protecting the health, safety and comfort of society,” Finley said.
